Creative Shoot- Vintage Dreams at Sneaton Castle (Part One)

Covid-19 has undoubtedly caused many disruptions within the wedding industry, however it is yet to dampen the creativity amongst the industries leading suppliers. Using this time for collaboration. Using this time to inspire couples. And this shoot is no exception.

It was a shoot with an ambitious plan from the offset, two looks within one day. But when you collaborate with like minded suppliers, anything is possible, and boy did the team deliver.

Location

The shoot took place in the brand new wedding venue Sneaton Castle located in Whitby. The newly refurbished venue has certainly restored the essence of its original architecture and period features whilst introducing subtle touches of modernity.

Its generous grounds are full of delights, including a chapel, a rustic barn, a bar and reception room and beautifully kept gardens. Couples will undoubtedly be left overwhelmed when choosing photography itinerary.

However, the most incredible space within the grounds has to be the fully-licensed Norman-style chapel, boasting its domed ceiling adorned with high renaissance-inspired artwork. Could there be a more perfect setting to say ‘I do’?

Styling

The concept of the shoot originated from husband and wife team Paylor Photography. The brief for the Vintage Dreams was very clear, and the team of suppliers embraced this. Sneaton Castle dressed the tables with their finest of mismatched china cups, saucers and tiered plates, accompanied with antique cut crystal glassware and lace trim napkins. The Countryside Florist created the prettiest of bouquets, brimming with the perfect combination of colourful florals, softened by the odd sprig of gypsophila and bound by hessian and lace. The table centres continued the theme, and these miniature bouquets offered a subtle pop of colour, which seemed to pull the entire look together. White Orchid Print and Design created some beautiful stationary, including menu cards, place cards, table numbers and a seating plan. The use of the soft muted colour palette worked well with the contrasting vibrancy of the tableware and florals. Gabriella Grace Cakes created a stunning three tier cake, subtle in colour and finer details, then accompanied with the most incredible sugar flowers and blackberries. Collectively creating the perfect afternoon tea wedding reception setting.

Attire

The bridal attire was supplied by Kate Clare Couture. The Starflower Dress is crafted from the prettiest of laces and dotty tulle, and detailed with a ruffled lace trim creating the most beautiful of ethereal gowns. The tweed three piece suit was supplied by Dandy Threads, the colour combination in the tweed favoured the rich green polka dot accents in the tie and pocket square.

Accessories

When supplying the accessories for this shoot, it was important to consider the finer details such as the gowns neckline and and the proposed hairstyle. So with a high neck and soft relaxed hair I decided that our Gabriella Drop Earrings and our Anastacia Headband would be ideal. A simple yet striking drop of freshwater pearls paired with a double headband adorned with pearls and crystals. Complementing the subtle feminine details of gown without detracting attention. Its all about creating the perfect balance.

Beauty

Due to covid restrictions Chrys Chapman MUA couldn’t be there on the day, but she offered her support via video link advising Rachel on how to achieve that soft natural look, whilst Paige Lauren created a loose half up, half down look finished perfectly with tousled waves.

The Couple

Under the covid guidelines the models had to be a ‘real life’ couple and so all the love and affection you see between Liam and Rachel is genuine.
